Can you believe it? You have a Kindergartner?!

We know how difficult a transition those first few days can be, so we’re here to help make it easy for you and your child! Below, you can find all the details for Kindergarten at Cove!


Meet the Cove Kindergarten Teachers

  • MaryGrace Kirshe

    Years at Cove: 6th year at Cove and my 10th year teaching kindergarten!

    Favorite Things: I love to go to the beach, hang out with my family and friends, and teach yoga in Ipswich! I also love to travel and try new restaurants with my husband, Lane.

    Fun Fact: A fun fact about me is that I am the youngest of six children and come from a family of educators–my mom was a teacher in Beverly and my brother and sister are also teachers!

  • Cindy Tamilio

    Years at Cove: 9th year at Cove and e my 21st year teaching in Beverly!

    Kids: I am the mom of two daughters, Emily and Natalie, and a step-mom to Sarah, Jay and Thomas. This November my oldest daughter, Emily, will be having a boy, so I will be a first time grandmother!

    Favorite Things: I love spending time with my husband, family and friends! We love to go camping, traveling, hiking, bird watching, taking walks with our dog Lizzie; as well as going to local shows at the Cabot Theatre or into Boston to listen to some great music.

    Fun Fact: I got to meet the legendary Celtics basketball player, Larry Bird, on the night of his retirement and ended up being on the local news channels!

  • Erin Mills (Willey)

    Years at Cove: 12th year teaching at Cove and my 8th year in Kindergarten!

    Kids: I am the luckiest mom of two boys. Gunnar is entering the 6th grade at Beverly Middle School and Ryan is here at Cove and will be in the 3rd grade with Ms. Manginis.

    Favorite Things: Laughing with my family and friends, a fresh iced coffee on the beach, reading a good book, and getting outside to soak up the sunshine on a nice walk with our dog, Mookie.

    Fun Fact: I was born and raised in Beverly! I went through the Beverly Public Schools and am happy to be raising my boys here, as well.

  • Meghan Ily

    Years at Cove: 16 years

    Kids: 4 children, ages 13-22

    Favorite Things: I love hiking & doing crafts with my family, playing with our Aussiedoodle and enjoying everything about nature... gardening, bird watching and camping are some of my favorites!

    Fun Fact: One fun fact about me is that I have an identical twin sister who occasionally works at cove as a substitute nurse!

Kindergarten Orientation

September 2024 / TBD

This is a great opportunity for your child to meet their classmates, bring in school supplies, and become a bit more familiar with Cove before the first full day of school!

While you as caregivers get the opportunity to meet the Principal, Erin Sweeney, as well as the PTO board. You will also learn about a typical day for your Cove Kindergartener and have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.

Important Information for arriving Kindergarteners:

First Day of School for Kindergarteners: TBD 2024

Arrival Location: Arrival for ALL K students is at Door #9 (to the right of the drop-off circle)

Arrival Time: Between 7:35am and 7:50am and dismissal is at 1:50pm. 

Dismissal Doors: 
Kirshe/Ily: Door #9
Mills/Tamilio: Door #8 at back of school. Take path to the right of door #9 to access door #8.

Additional Information:

What to pack:

  • Please pack a clean, weather appropriate change of clothes (underwear, too!) in a ziploc bag for your child to keep at school in case of an accident. Please label clothing! 

  • Students will have snack and lunch everyday. Please send in one healthy snack and a water bottle (filled with water only!) that your child is able to open independently. You may send a packed lunch from home or your child can order lunch each day.

  • Please send your child to school with a backpack and in clothes and shoes that they are able to manage independently.

Breakfast & Lunch:

  • School breakfast and lunches are free to all this year. Please arrive before 7:50am if you would like your child to get a breakfast from the cafeteria. 

  • Also, please keep in mind that we are an allergy aware classroom so we are asking that all snacks be nut-free
